And the countdown begins: 3 days until I leave Paris!
I can't figure out if I'm sad or happy to leave. Perhaps neither. I'll miss this city, for sure, it's beautiful beautiful sights, the Seine River, all the lovely museums, the endless supply of restaurants and cafés, my beloved book vendors along the river...but I'm also very excited for Aix-en-Provence! I'll be living in a "maisonnette" or little house with 3 other girls about a mile and a half away from the center of town. We have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (we think), a kitchen, and a living room and it's in the back corner of some family's property. Cute!
Now, an important note for people at home: The French postal service is going on strike on September 23 (go figure), so I would hold off sending care packages, fan mail, gifts, signs of your love for me until a little while afterwards. I'll keep all of you "post"ed on the situation. *giggle*
Oh, also, I won't be able to put up any pictures for a little while because I don't know how the internet access issue will work itself out in Aix yet and also I was silly and packed my USB cable for my camera away in my big luggage which I believe may be on its way down to Aix already in some sort of truck.
